Cave
Climb over dramatic waterfalls and pass through pools of cooling water to reach Jumandi Caves, named after the Ecuadorian hero who hid women and children in caves during the 16th-century Spanish invasions. Jumandi himself was found hiding in this cave by the Spanish and later executed in Quito. Enter the caves to see 3 m (9.8) tall stalagmites that have taken over 30 years to grow. Wear sturdy hiking shoes for the trek, bring a change of clothes or a swimsuit, and expect to get wet. Hiring a professional tour guide is required to visit. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Tena holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Jumandi Caves and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The caverns are beautiful, it is a new experience. It is a guided tour where you have to be prepared with bathing suit and shoes tied and ready to get wet. You are a head lamp for travel which, at least in an area, it is recommended to know how to swim, although there is a hose that cling to pass. There is another area with a waterfall where being able to bathe, beautiful experience the bathing in a cave in the dark. Tour otherwise simple if you have a little bit of care, simple and short.

  • The complex is completely abandoned. The access to the caverns if is open. Compensates for go in groups of 5 to come out for 15 USD. Recommendations: is need suit of bath and boots of water, as well as a mute of clothes for after because sales very wet. Home Guide of the area very well explaining everything. Refrain in bad physical shape or claustrophobia-impaired person. It requires climbing and passing through narrow areas. Also inside you can swim in the pools that are
