Peer into the life of some of Ecuador's most rare and endangered species at Amazoonico Animal Rescue Centre. Located in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the reserve works to rehabilitate victims of illegal animal trafficking into the wild. All of the animals have suffered some trauma, and many have physical and behavioral problems that threaten their ability to survive on their own. The reserve offers these animals a chance for survival in sheltered living conditions as close as possible to their natural habitat. • Amazoonico is a center of animal rescue to take animals that have been abused or trafficked illegally for their restitution in nature. It is a very interesting project involving volunteers from different countries who will guide you through the shelter knowing the different animals that are found there.
