Rancho Primicias, Santa Cruz

(4.9/5 based on 120 reviews on the web)
Admire the gentle giants of the Galapagos at Rancho Primicias. Explore the ranch lush with fruit trees and populated by cattle, goats, and giant tortoises. The tortoises are calm and relaxed and will not be frightened if you walk up near them, so the site provides the chance for some great photo ops. Observe the creatures as they roam around the ranch munching on greens and playing in the water. There is also a souvenir shop and a cafe restaurant (known for fresh passion fruit juice). Put Rancho Primicias at the forefront of your travel plans using our Puerto Ayora tour planner.

  • For a day trip, we visited also the Rancho Primicias. From Puerto Ayora, we headed towards Bella Vista, from there, it was always uphill up to Santa Rosa. In the village, we turned off Miten left, we headed towards the end of Ortel Salasaca turn left into a dirt road. (Road) there on this way we had first Kimelah with small and larger giant shield Kakar saigal. After an estimated 3-4, we reached the Rancho Primicias km. The Rancho outbuilding with toilet consists of several buildings a souvenir Schopp, eaten with many Souveniers.Das main building with Restaurantist right next door we have unfortunately not, but according to our taxi driver we have missed something. On the massive estate, you can move freely and enjoy the scenic nature with their animals. If you time and makes photos and look at you need try 1 to 1.5 hours. Enjoy my pictures

  • A lot of grounds to cover here but that means there is a lot of chance to see a lot of tortoises with great picture opportunities. Nice set up at the end with some giant shells that the kids played in...  more »
  • A great place to view the giant tortoises for which the area is famous - we stopped counting at 100!
