Trip Planner: South America / Ecuador / Pichincha Province / Quito / San Antonio de Pichincha / Mitad Del Mundo
Stand between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at Mitad Del Mundo, marked by a compass-like monument erected to show the exact location of the Equator. Stand with one foot on either side of the line for a unique photo opportunity, and get your passport stamped to say you've visited the Earth's midpoint. Here's the thing, though--it's not the real Equator, as the park's designers missed it by about 250 m (820 ft). Put Mitad Del Mundo at the forefront of your travel plans using our Quito trip app.

Mitad Del Mundo reviews
I find Mitad del Mundo a little cheesy. It is a site with a collection of museums, eateries, and souvenir shops. It is alright, a place to go for one time and that's it. You probably need 2h max. The.... more »
The area is well organized and great attention to hygiene (COVID19). Plenty of little shops. Some of the demonstration equipment wasn’t working or not very well maintained. Food was very good in the..... more »
It's a landmark to prove "I was there!" The whole place was mostly closed but it appears to be mostly cheap, touristy shops and a photo op. Thankfully, we did not go into the area that required... more »
This place is a must if you are in Quito. Clean and organized you will easily find everything you want. Artistic gallery, beer museum, cacao museum and an experimental room where you can play around with gravity and know more about what is like being I the real middle of the world. People are kind and always willing to support/guide you. Take your passport so you can have it stamped!
the elevator was out of service but nevertheless, the tower was well worth the visit. stunning views, helpful tour guides, delicious food at the restaurants and great souvenirs at a good price. you could spend a whole day here, it’s worth it!
It’s nice place, you can learn more about the hemispheres and do fun activities at their museum, local restaurants and shops. You can do the egg balancing experience and take lovely pictures!
Well is just the true middle of the world... Is a place you must know is because is what it is... One point on earth 🌎.. and you can't find in no other place around the entire world. You can find well armed museum 🖼️... And giant sculpture related, amazing playing 🎴 natural games and for sure national and international 🥑 food. By the way you can go to catequilla hill an ancient place where is located the only true middle of the world discovered for the Indians many centuries ago even before the geodesic expedition with an impressive precision and with no modern instrumentals just with the astrology knowledge. Go for it. An unique experience on your checking account ☑️ 🎁 box
Picturesque scenery in one of the places that claim to be the exact equator. Definitely the most built and invested in. Nice displays and plenty of shops. Museums close at 5. Shops at 6.
