Outdoor Activity
Walk the paved path along the ocean at La Chocolatera, taking in the calm sea breeze and jagged rocky coastline. Located on a military base, the area has allowed public access only since 2015. Explore the trail between two lookout points with a bicycle tour to get the most out of this picturesque coastline and its panoramic views. Keep an eye out for sea lions resting on the rocks not too far out from shore; bring binoculars if you can. • Know that you are on the site more Western del.continente is spectacular... Watch and listen as they break the waves against the rocks, is priceless. Very accessible place. If they go to Salinas, you can't miss it is.

  • I recommend to go by private car or hire a taxi to let them and ask for the number of the taxi driver to call it and you expect them to pick up. There is a very nice trail that goes from the sea lion colony up to the chocolate.

  • The chocolate is located at the most salient point of the Ecuadorian coast towards the West and the second in South America. To get to the chocolate from Guayaquil, via should be taken to the coast, to the province of Santa Elena, a series of rocks and cliffs make up this beautiful marine scenery. He has a wonderful breeze, nest birds near their crags, as the blue-footed booby, terns, among others. From your viewpoint, you can see passing the sea lions, and in the season of humpback whales, is the best place for them to spot, since it has a spectacular view of the peninsula. This beautiful site is called the chocolate by color chocolate taking its waters when it hit the ocean currents and lift the dust and the sand at the bottom, by force which the waters crash against the rocks. In its beaches surfing Championships, held by its fabulous high waves. For tourists who wish to get a small reminder, you can buy a souvenir in the stalls of artisans, they perform fine craftsmanship in tagua, toquilla and coral and wood.
