Zoológico de Quito, Quito

(3.2/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Make some furry friends at Zoológico de Quito, home to over 130 species of animals native to Ecuador. The zoo prides itself on being a safe haven for animals rescued from harmful living conditions. The maintenance and care for the animals on display, the camps and interactive exhibits, and the relocating of rescued animals into sanctuaries across the country are all part of the zoo's conservation efforts. On a self-guided tour of the zoo you'll see lions, monkeys, bears, and turtles. There is a small cafeteria halfway through selling snacks. Using our custom trip planner, Quito attractions like Zoológico de Quito can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • By no means can this zoo match San Diego's or NYC's zoo. However, you'll get to enjoy the trip to the zoo and will take a look at some typical Andean animals like the spectacled bear and the magnifice...  more »
  • Unique attractions in Guayabamba and an icon for lacuidad by its various animals including the great condor, really worth to go but if it is a penalty see the little support that has this great attraction tourist in the Ecuador hopefully over time succeed and soon will visit them again 100% recommended.

  • A hot place, wear insect repellent, Sun cream. The animals are well dyed! The guides are very friendly! It is approximately a one hour travel have a farm apart from wild animals that you can feed with carrots and touch them. The only thing that would change are the Andean bears, we note that they die of heat and do not have a shadow place of refuge.
