I returned after 4 years to visit Quito and El Ejido Park... which is far the Park when it was an obliged place to visit, among other things by the artistic expressions that in the Sundays were liable. Now converted into a park dirty, unkempt, dangerous, and full of messy street vendors. Exhibitions of paintings have fallen category. Hopefully when the subway station being built there will culminate, worry about improving it!

Probably being Sunday it was very busy and so full of life and movement. Quite large with many stalls that we imagine they were there primarily for tourists. It's nice but it's a bit far from the Center and perhaps not worth the time to raggiurgerlo.

Very large, beautiful park, wooded and well taken care of. With several options for sporting activities.

3/4 of the park was closed due to construction of the metro. Would recommend only if interested in arts and crafts stores, because that's all there is.

Nice place to stay with friends. There's art across the street that you can buy.

Nice park. I liked the fact I had free Wi-Fi connection in one of the areas at least (Outside the library or something like that).

It is a clean park where people go with their families to enjoy themselves

This is a great park in Quito. Plenty of green space and some good nearby food options. Easy access to trolleys for traveling to and from the park. We usually go here to buy gifts and crafts from locals on the north side of the park. There is a cheaper market about 5 minutes north from the park at the artisan market where you can find the same items.

Where to stay in Quito

Most visitors to Quito choose to stay in La Mariscal, a touristy neighborhood filled with guesthouses, restaurants, and bars. This area is also the town's nightlife hub, drawing a young crowd of revelers from around the world. If you prefer less noise, look for a bed in La Foresta, a quieter and less crowded alternative just a few blocks away from popular entertainment opportunities. For upscale sleeping options head to the old town, boasting many of Quito's top hotels in some of its prettiest buildings.
