Parque El Ejido, Quito

3.9
#4 of 11 in Parks in Quito
Nature / Park
Stop by Parque El Ejido for a relaxing break in a place favored by both locals and tourists. On weekends, the park becomes the scene of an artisan exhibit and market. Shop the stalls for locally made products and works of art by local talent, and don't be afraid to haggle for the best price. This park is also popular with street performers, who add to the area's flavor and atmosphere. • The place is huge, you arrive by various sides, is well located and can buy souvenirs with great price, even after comparisons.

  • Located in the North Centre of Quito, a central point of the city in which converge 4 important avenues; Homeland, the Amazon, the August 10 and December 6. Somewhat neglected today day, perhaps out of the open on its four sides, numerous street vendors swarm everywhere, remote possibility of sit unless you do it on the grass. I do not recommend visiting in rainy season, by bogs that form in their common passages. Tarot readers concur much of the field reading letters, finally offering popular attraction and nature center of visited for lovers of nature in the open air.

  • This is a thriving park in the center of the city. The game that resembles volleyball is played and surprisingly high-stakes card games that I didn't understand are played too. Buy a good meat skewer,...  more »

  • 3/4 of the park was closed due to construction of the metro. Would recommend only if interested in arts and crafts stores, because that's all there is.
  • Nice place to stay with friends. There's art across the street that you can buy.
  • Nice park. I liked the fact I had free Wi-Fi connection in one of the areas at least (Outside the library or something like that).
  • It is a clean park where people go with their families to enjoy themselves
  • This is a great park in Quito. Plenty of green space and some good nearby food options. Easy access to trolleys for traveling to and from the park. We usually go here to buy gifts and crafts from locals on the north side of the park. There is a cheaper market about 5 minutes north from the park at the artisan market where you can find the same items.

Where to stay in Quito

Most visitors to Quito choose to stay in La Mariscal, a touristy neighborhood filled with guesthouses, restaurants, and bars. This area is also the town's nightlife hub, drawing a young crowd of revelers from around the world. If you prefer less noise, look for a bed in La Foresta, a quieter and less crowded alternative just a few blocks away from popular entertainment opportunities. For upscale sleeping options head to the old town, boasting many of Quito's top hotels in some of its prettiest buildings.
