#12 of 46 in Museums in Quito
Established in tribute to an important figure in Ecuador's struggle for independence, Museo Manuela Saenz remains a major attraction in Quito's old town. Personal items like ornaments made from ivory, paintings, sculptures, documents, and china offer invaluable insight into Saenz's life. • Anyone wishing to go should be done with a little more time, since they offer to see a documentary at the beginning of the travel, which helps to contextualise correctly to the visitor. On the other hand, is something recommended first visit other landmarks of Quito, as are constantly mentioned throughout the Museum, because it helps you to have a better vision of the time. Care is very good. It is also advisable to carry a student ID to get discount at the entrance.

  • Was ok, im not a big fan of museums but overall its a food experience
  • Awesome
  • You have very interesting things like pictures, Manuela and Simón Bolívar objects, including letters faithful copies of the original that even are pending to expand and a good section of weapons, some how spoils of war. What I expect is that the House was where she lived and you had more home ownership and personal objects, but did not.

  • It is amazing that one person has succeeded in recovering so much history and raise a Museum of this category worth to be visited, admired and maintained over time. Congratulations to the founder of this Museum, thank you for giving us the opportunity to admire this wonderful legacy, perhaps the only one in Latin America and that it puts in the place that corresponds to our beloved hero Quito Manuela Sáenz.
