Explore the authentic bohemian neighborhood of Guapulo. Take a walk down a winding road to the old neighborhood church, which was the original route Francisco de Orellana took to the Amazon River during the beginning of his explorations. The rustic vibe of the neighborhood leaves an impression, and you can find quite a lot happening during the evening hours. Where to stay in Quito

Most visitors to Quito choose to stay in La Mariscal, a touristy neighborhood filled with guesthouses, restaurants, and bars. This area is also the town's nightlife hub, drawing a young crowd of revelers from around the world. If you prefer less noise, look for a bed in La Foresta, a quieter and less crowded alternative just a few blocks away from popular entertainment opportunities. For upscale sleeping options head to the old town, boasting many of Quito's top hotels in some of its prettiest buildings.

  • Guapulo is a beautiful place on the side of a very very tall hill. It has a popular church and also is full with hispters and arts pubs and restaurants. A great spot to go by night,  more »
  • Guapulo is unique since its narrows streets wind down a steep hillside. With much "to do", early Conquistadores set off into the Amazon jungle with hundreds of Indigenous "porters" (who never survived...  more »

  • Tie your hiking shoes tight, because this trek is a challenge ! But definitely worth the sights. Hidden parks , beautiful scenery, and horses! Take a stroll , won't cost you a dime . ( Unless you take a cab to get there or back ) get some clean air in your lungs .. and wonder .. who lives in those house off in those distant cliffs?!
  • Fantastic views. Down grade you can visit Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Merced. Construction was completed in 1736.
  • Nice view! Not well maintained
  • Very Nice view! Sometimes you can see Cayambe Volcano. Of course it all depends on the weather, every now and then there is a lot of fog and you can see nothing.
  • Excelent vista
