Were in Quito in may 2016 g. Close to Cathedral adjoins the Church of El Sagrario (Church Tabernacles). Its construction started in 1657 and finished half a century later. It is noteworthy that it was originally the main Chapel of the Cathedral, which was built for the purpose of the Holy Communion. The walls and ceiling of her small nave are painted, imitating marble with black and white veins. Magnificent frescoes illustrating Bible stories and a number of Windows of hardened glass adorn the central dome. Bernardo de Legarda, a prominent sculptor Quito 18 century, cut and browned dividing Baroque wall (mampara) when entering the Church. He also decorated and the main altar. In the Church of El Sagrario still send sacrament, so it is open only during mass. The Central passage leads a visitor beneath the dome, decorated with frescoes of biblical scenes with archangels. The altar of this church with Solomon columns and sculptures constructed and gilded Lagardom. Stone walls, pillars and vaults are covered with wall paintings, which still retained its luster.
