  • It is the Church which adjoins the Cathedral of Quito, and has more than a religious meaning a patriotic meaning already there and in surrounding areas were hiding quoenes liberated Ecuador of the Spaniards

  • The building was in charge of the architect José Jaime Ortíz and lasted between 1694 and 1715. As in many churches in the city, there is only one type of architecture but the Baroque that prevails in many of them as in El Sagrario is notorious. Note that unlike other places, here the entry is free of charge.

  • It looks small from outside, but it is big inside. The mass was going on when I arrived. The priest was talking slowly so I could follow what was going on (with my limited Spanish). The main altar is ...  more »

  • El Sagrario Church on Garcia Moreno Street and independence square opens ago your eyes. El Sagrario Church was built in 1741. St. Lou is very beautiful and unusual green tones and has a very friendly feel is internal.
