Landmark
For unmatched views of the capital city and its neighboring volcanoes, climb to the top of El Panecillo. The hill stands 200 m (656 ft) high between south and central Quito and comes from volcanic origin. Reach the top by a set of stairs at the end of Calle Garcia Moreno, or opt for a relatively inexpensive cab ride to the summit. Atop the hill, admire the statue of the Virgin of Quito, built between 1955 and 1975. Locals will be quick to inform you that this is the only virgin statue that sports angel wings. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Quito holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the El Panecillo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The Virgin of the bread is one of the icons of Quito. Majestic it can be seen from various points of the city. Located in the historical center, the panoramic view from there to appreciate much of Quito and the valleys

  • The legendary and ancient natural viewpoint of Quito. Appointed and sung by poets and musicians is without doubt one of the most charming sites worth. From the top you can admire the city in all its splendor, especially the helmet Cologne, with its narrow streets and symmetrical that it seems that they were drawn with square and piola. You will find under the statue of the Virgin of Quito and Legarda, a monumental sculpture which is the admiration of tourists. On clear days you can admire some snow-capped mountains of the Avenue of the volcanoes. I recommend and you will see that you won't regret.
