  • Guayasamin is not only Ecuadorian, he is best known internationally, but Ecuador is a country of painters. In the center of the Ecuadorian culture, it is possible to discover many of them. In the Center are exhibited works by contemporary painters. It is a very important collection. As important as it was Quiteña school in colonial times (whose works are shown in the Museum of Colonial art), also was school in the indigenous movement in the 1930s and these works are exposed in the Casa de la Cultura. There is a very nice collection of ancient musical instruments.
