Incredible trip!!!! The Biking Dutchman goes farther into the national park valley than the other companies. You meet Cotopaxi face to face and go through different altitudes and vegetation changes throughout your descent. Take your time, DO NOT LOCK THE FRONT BRAKES, take advantage of your support van and take lots and lots of pictures. You will love this tour, its trails, its locations and incredible views.

Fear not - the famous Biking Dutchman is still leading amazing tours. The full experience was professional from start to finish. I messaged on WhatsApp to plan my trip and immediately received messages back with options for travel. They worked with me to plan a perfect trip and did not disappoint. Jan is a pioneer of biking in Ecuador. Name a route or a trail, and he was probably the first to find it. He's an amazing storyteller - an important quality when spending the day together. There's no doubt you'll be enthralled by his life story. It's worth the price of admission alone. The tour was equally unforgettable. I felt safe with the gear provided and always had the support vehicle near if help was needed. The bikes are great quality and well maintained. Overall, awesome experience. Worth the price - there's a reason they're famous.

We had a great time with our 1 day private Cotopaxi mountain biking trip. We were picked up at 0700 from our Quito hotel and drove about 2 hours to Cotopaxi- in the back of a 4-wheel drive truck that was carrying the bikes with a pit stop at a gas station for snacks and gas. We paused at the based to get fitted with helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads (I would recommend BD inspect their helmets more regularly, mine clearly had been in a collision and was damaged, which should have meant it was retired and replaced. However, there others didn't fit, so I kept that helmet). We were back in the truck to finish going up, we stopped at about 4k up (not the top). The downhill segment was steep and a little fast/scary for this beginner since it was raining and making things slick and muddy, but really cool! You do share the road with cars, but I never felt unsafe from that perspective. We turned off the road and did some flat to up-hill stuff which was GORGEOUS and had a yummy lunch of sandwiches and brownies. The last segment was mostly flat with some solid uphill, but this sea-level girl did OK. The truck stays behind you in case you need assistance and our guide was amazing and spoke fluent English. Oh, don't expect a bathroom after the park entrance. Highly recommend, loved every cold-wet minute!

Amazing day trip to Cotopaxi, I feel like I've just come back from another planet! The first part is fast and steep but not too much as we are beginners, the next part is flatter and so beautiful; Jan knew the quiet routes with wild horses, natural springs and no other people. The bikes were great and a driver followed us with loads of equipment which is super convenient. Finally, the picnic lunch was really good, with hot tea, pastries, delicious sandwiches and amazing chocolate brownies. It's competitively priced too, what more could you want?!
