  • Naturally, Galapagos would be nothing without the giant tortoises, of which there's something as well as eleven varieties of the fifteen or sixteen that have ever occurred. Turtle hatcheries (there is one in each island, and the cutest isn't Isabela, but Santa Cruz: Centre Darwin) produce a paradoxical impression because the turtles that breed there are a hundreds, which seems to disprove the cry of alarm of species in movie Gro's extinction. But we believe that it is so and applaud the ssfuerzo of conservationists (even if their ideology is incompatible with Darwin's) to save and reproduce species of giant tortoises. Thanks to them, we can live with albatrosses, iguanas, sea lions, lapwings, flamingos and other species both or more attractive than turtles. The Arnaldo Tupiza breeding Center is functional, although it lacks charm. Anyway, it is must-see because it is on the route of the wetlands and shortly before the lagoons where flamingos can be observed.

  • Isabela island from giant land tortoise breeding Center of just hatched from two eggs from a wide range of ages of the main breed adult turtles can see them. Visitor Center, Galapagos land tortoise breeding Center, why do you so must be current through breeding is documented and easy to understand for each turtle station, such as an explanation for every turtle species, says plenty of self-guided tour available. On the way there are a myriad of wood deck district Ana Middle lagoon in the pink Flamenco are bonus! However, between Ding and sunscreen, good shoes and sunburns.

  • Nice to see the work they are doing to save the giant tortoises. Several pens of tortoises with different species. There is a cafe and bathrooms there and the stroll is quite shirt and easy around the center. Good for all ages.
  • Taxi dropped us off and we had a nice relaxing time walking around the tortoise breeding centre. Friendly staff and good souvenirs. Walking back through the bush track topped off a great day - nice and sheltered, opening out into the mangroves with flamingos, then onto the beach at low tide as the marine iguanas are heading out.
  • We rented a bike for half day and came here to see the turtle. We already did Darwin Centre on Santa Cruz and saw a lot of turtle. Yes there is a lot of turtle of different species but no much information about them. There is a small museum which explain why they are in extinction taking away the eggs. The most impressive is to see them in the wild on the wall of tear track.
  • More than 6-800 turtles at this turtle zoo. Nice indoor air conditioned exhibit about the turtles. Many of them mating or attempting to.
  • Cool to see tortusus
