Peguche Waterfall, Peguche
(4/5 based on 460 reviews on the web)
Stroll down a cobblestone path and through lush green vegetation to see Peguche Waterfall. This 18 m (50 ft) waterfall serves as an indigenous ceremonial site, where locals carry out traditional rituals a few days prior to their sun and harvest celebration. The water flowing down this waterfall starts at the foothills of the Imbabura volcano and then travels downstream by the river Peguche after falling off the overhang here. Look for the hummingbirds, owls, small snakes, frogs, lizards, and rabbits that make up the local wildlife. • Unfortunately I didn't like the Peguche Waterfall; The waterfall itself is beautiful, but on the day we visited was too crowded and it took quite the beauty of the place. There were camps, people everywhere and a lot of mess. In the lobby there are several souvenir shops or cafeterias and a relatively small parking. To get to the waterfall it is necessary to follow the shops, pass by the side of a Sun clock and follow a path well signaled, after registering your visit at reception. The waterfall is tall and beautiful. Maybe it's best to visit outside of weekends.

  • Nice landscaped park with a beautiful waterfall. If man time has is worth a visit but not extraordinary what you absolutely have to see.
