Parque Historico, Guayaquil

(4.5/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Get a glimpse into how the city looked a century ago at Parque Historico, where you can also get to know local traditions, rural customs, and native wildlife. Stroll along elevated pathways through banana plants, a dry tropical forest, and mangrove trees, and observe birds, reptiles, and other animals in their natural habitat. See old farming tools and learn about the life of farmers who worked the rice fields, coffee, cocoa, and banana plantations during the "cocoa boom." The courtyard of a restored hacienda serves a stage where costumed characters play out the 19th-century routines of daily life. Taste some of the traditional dishes at an old-fashioned bakery. • Mandatory stop if you love nature and animals. Very well kept and clean. I recommend take Off and protector solar! Admission is free but not no bus arrives there so you have to go by car or taxi if or if. It was worth!

  • beautiful park, kept clean and worthy of a visit for those who love to immerse themselves in the Green between animals of different species: pink flamingos, crocodiles, parrots, peacocks and monkeys in the mangroves, cocoa and banana plants .... just a tip before your entrance to sprinkle yourself with mosquito repellant.

  • This place was great and FREE! The staff and great, they even put our bags in the office to keep them safe. Did I mention that some of them speak English. The zoo part was the best. The animals are not confined to cages. You have to stay on the path but the birds are usually close enough for you to get a close look.
  • Very nice place, helps you discover the best of the coastal flora and fauna. Free entrance unbelievably, animals kept in their habitat. Not cages. A MUST when in Guayaquil!!
  • A must see if you're in Samborondón! Beautiful animals, nice plants and lots of potential for the future (the hotel they're building should be nice!)
  • If you manage to visit this part of the peninsula, you must visit Parque Historico de Guayaquil. Besides the Malecon area, this would be another safe place to walk. The zoo is nearby and open during the day. You get to visit the leftover colonial type homes, very Caribbean flavor, this is also where the train and boats converged back in the nascent republican days.
  • Un lugar bonito para disfruta con la familia. A perfect place to spend a day with the family.
