Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil, Guayaquil

(4.2/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Appreciate the remarkable sense of light and space you get standing inside Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil. Constructed between 1924 and 1937 to replace Guayaquil's original wooden cathedral (which burned down on the same site in 1692), the beige, twin-spired structure dominates the city center. With simple light-colored columns and arches that climb high to the cavernous ceiling, the cathedral seems remarkably airy. Admire the many stained glass windows, depicting famous religious scenes in dazzling color. • Muy bonita exterior y los. Vitrales
  • It is an exceptional place; modern Gothic architecture, with a great length in the central Chapel, bin very decorated its side altars and some impressive stained glass windows with images of many saints, including all Latin Americans.
