Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil, Guayaquil

(4.2/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Appreciate the remarkable sense of light and space you get standing inside Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil. Constructed between 1924 and 1937 to replace Guayaquil's original wooden cathedral (which burned down on the same site in 1692), the beige, twin-spired structure dominates the city center. With simple light-colored columns and arches that climb high to the cavernous ceiling, the cathedral seems remarkably airy. Admire the many stained glass windows, depicting famous religious scenes in dazzling color. • Is located in the city centre, a few blocks from the Malecon. She's pretty, but like other Latin American churches. Not enough to stand out.

  • Good architecture, must know the Cathedral from the place you visit. Just opposite the iguanas and waterfront park, so you have 3 attractions nearby that you can visit often.

  • The Cathedral Metropolitan of Guayaquil is a building something impressive that is stands out in the geography urban of the city. Located in the Centre, opposite the interesting Park of the Iguanas, it is a stop on the tour of the city. The building is large, with two large wings, but is something bland as regards it stylistic, not presents large attractive as itself it make the most of them churches of Quito or, even, basin. However, it is worthy of visit, mostly because more is part of the urban centre of attraction for tourists.

  • Muy bonita exterior y los. Vitrales
  • It is an exceptional place; modern Gothic architecture, with a great length in the central Chapel, bin very decorated its side altars and some impressive stained glass windows with images of many saints, including all Latin Americans.
