Water Body
At the heart of a wildlife reserve lies Laguna Grande, a tranquil lagoon known for its multicolored sunsets and pristine swimming spots. The water level in the lagoon fluctuates greatly during the seasons, at times so much so that the lake dries up and sprouts grasses and trees. In wet season, rare pink dolphins and and fish call the lake home. Move swiftly across the lake's mirrored surface in a canoe, and spot the wildlife on land and the many bird species above. • During our stay in the Cuyabeno Park our guide took us several times to the big lake to swim and watch the spectacular sunsets. It is a magical place. One day during the dawn we also went to see different species of birds of the Amazon and at night went out to search for boas and anacondas in the trees around. A very good place, especially during sunsets.

  • Was there at two sunsets and a few times during the day, it was really really nice and peaceful! The water is calm and keeps a nice temperature to swim in!
