  • It is not a Museum for everyone, because that shows sex death skulls... It is the Museum of the forbidden. House of an artist who is curious to visit. You can try on clothes or get you in a coffin, and even under a guillotine. Worth a just dólar(en enero 2017) a price symbolic. Give him a chance, you will be surprised... Especially the bathrooms, hehe

  • The Cuenca walking tour pointed out this cafe/art/curio place to us - and we're glad we returned to check it out. It's only a dollar and if you have a taste for the unusual and appreciate the vision o...  more »
  • Fun, a strange and extreme, a little bizarre but very creative art. It's great to be able to interact with the samples and take pictures for memories of the Center.

  • I'm all for talking about cultural taboos, but this museum was just a creepy, overpriced (at $2 entrance fee) experience. My dad and I visited thinking we could check out some weird artwork and grab a beer or coffee inside, but the place was just too filthy to consider ingesting anything here. It wasn't the Christ figures with erections that bothered me but just the musty, stained environment and dirty kitchen that was easily visible. Taboos don't frighten me as much as the prospect of sickness from food service. All the artwork seemed to be just sculptures and wall art from some tattoo artist trying to show how edgy he was. I know it has a different cultural significance in Ecuador than in other places, but I felt like plenty of others had done it before and much better. Infrequently interesting and definitely not for kids or your grandma.
  • Varies wildly in quality, but an interesting museum. They encourage photos which makes it even more fun.
  • Wow, such great artwork! You can look for hours!
  • Something unique! A great artist who made everything you need there. It is not a style for everyone, but there is no doubt that is very interesting and fun.

  • The forbidden is that place where all who like extreme, dark and bizarre art you will feel well. A relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a coffee or a beer with friends or alone, in the middle of skulls, murals, paintings and extravagant sculptures. Visit it even for curiosity. Highly recommended
