  • This exhibition is worth a visit although not a real 'must see'. A lot of skeletons and skulls, some weird paintings and statues and a small bar/cafe. If you want a picture of yourself in a coffin or ...  read more »
  • The decoration is very funny/controversial. To take pictures and chat in the evenings (I don't know as it is at night). The place is a like a gallery dominated by works relating to death, to the or forbidden. It is possible to play with the elements that are there, and that makes it fun.

  • I'm all for talking about cultural taboos, but this museum was just a creepy, overpriced (at $2 entrance fee) experience. My dad and I visited thinking we could check out some weird artwork and grab a beer or coffee inside, but the place was just too filthy to consider ingesting anything here. It wasn't the Christ figures with erections that bothered me but just the musty, stained environment and dirty kitchen that was easily visible. Taboos don't frighten me as much as the prospect of sickness from food service. All the artwork seemed to be just sculptures and wall art from some tattoo artist trying to show how edgy he was. I know it has a different cultural significance in Ecuador than in other places, but I felt like plenty of others had done it before and much better. Infrequently interesting and definitely not for kids or your grandma.
  • Varies wildly in quality, but an interesting museum. They encourage photos which makes it even more fun.
  • Wow, such great artwork! You can look for hours!
  • The forbidden is that place where all who like extreme, dark and bizarre art you will feel well. A relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a coffee or a beer with friends or alone, in the middle of skulls, murals, paintings and extravagant sculptures. Visit it even for curiosity. Highly recommended
