  • Zoo on the mountainside, clean and well maintained. We discover the cages to the detours of trails carved directly into the stone, most of the animals are "recovered" animals and they try to do an awareness to deforestation and trafficking of wild animals. Allow 3 hours for the visit, the paths are difficult to access for people with reduced mobility.

  • We got a taxi from the main plaza which cost $4. It's only about a 15 minute drive. The zoo is laid out in such a unique way - on the side of a mountain! There is a good bit of uphill walking but noth...  more »
  • This zoo offers visitors the opportunity to see first hand some of the most characteristic animal of the Andes and not only (for example a group of Lions) and especially not in classic cages that for years have characterized many zoo but in much larger spaces that allow the animals to move with some freedom. Very interesting and fun is the mountainous path that you must follow to complete the circuit of about 2-3 hours which takes visitors from the beginning to the end of the visit. The zoo is part of a very interesting project that involves many schools on environmental education and the protection of animals. Recommended!!!
