Cristo Rei, Dili

4.4
Perched atop a summit looking out toward the capital of East Timor, Cristo Rei stands as a symbol of the island’s relations with Indonesia. Reaching 27 m (88.6 ft) high, the statue was given as a gift to the east islanders by the Indonesian government in 1996, modeled on Rio de Janeiro’s monument of the same name. Climb the 500-step ascent and look out from the island’s peninsula, enjoying panoramic views of the Timor Sea. Take care on the uneven steps and bring plenty of water. • This place was amazing!!! Although I went to the top at 11 am, it means that was very very hot. But I love that. But the serious thing that the government have to focus about the trash, unfortunatelly many trash there. But the place really gave me an experience! :)
  • It was great experience to climb the top of this mountain and see the beautiful view sunset
  • Woow. I got there with my high-heel. More than 600 stairs I guess. The view from top of Fatucama hill is sooo beautiful.
  • A very pretty beach, and superb scenery.
  • Timor-Leste government should be taking care this place more seriously. Many things need to be improve. But when you go to this place..the view is amazing
