Jaco Island, Com

(4.7/5 based on 20+ reviews on the web)
Featuring long sandy beaches and blue waters, Jaco Island is part of Nino Konis Santana National Park and is known for being a Timorese Important Bird Area. This well-preserved beach provides a nice spot for snorkeling and diving because of its colorful coral reefs and turtles. The trip to the island takes approximately six hours by car and boat but rewards travelers with a peace representative of an uninhabited island. Guests can stay in one of two guesthouses or camp along the beach. Birdwatching is a popular pastime here--you can see many rare bird populations of Timor, including pink-headed imperial pigeons, Timor sparrows, blue-cheeked flowerpeckers, and many others. • Jaco is a small, but unique island with crystal clear water on the eastern coast of Timor. Access to the island is quite difficult. During the rainy season, the road is divided, so the best time to visit is from April to October. The island can be a few hours walking around. Spend the night on the island cannot be, so all the tourists are moving to the island by boat, which the locals offer for $10. in both ends. Water and food to the island no, all you need to take with you. In the evening return to the great land. Coral reefs are found in 15-20 metres from the shore, so it is ideal for snorkeling. You can see sea turtles. Exotic fish in abundance near the shore is always there. So rest assured.

  • Undoubtedly, one of the most wonderful beaches in Timor-Leste. Absolutely worth the tedious drive, especially the part from Tutuala. Amazing reefs (so far unaffected by bleaching). Be aware of bringing plenty of sunscreen as the beach provides only spare shade!
  • top end. rewarded courage after the last ten kms ;)
  • The beauty of Timor Leste is incredible. This sacred place could be one of the most beautiful in the country.
  • Beautiful and natural. Bring some food itself, there are nothing for sell.
  • I really really love this place so much
