National Palace, Santo Domingo

4.0
Architecture and history buffs should pay a visit to National Palace, where the president's office resides. The neoclassical building dates from the mid-20th century, featuring a design by Italian architect Guido D'Alessandro. You can't access the interior, but the guards may let you get up to the gate to snap a few pictures. Afterwards, take a walk around the area to see some interesting early 20th century residences dotted around. • Pictures only through the bars, entry is not permitted. Palace of Government, administrative headquarters. Guards around. Optional tour! Contemplative.

  • House of the heads of State of the Dominican Republic only can be seen on the outside since there are no tours in which one can enter, or at least so they told me. This place is a replica "miniature" of the Congress of the United States command to build the dictator Trujillo in 1944 and was finished in 1947. Always there are guards at the door and one can ask them to open the door from the side (which is on the box of security to lean a bit in the perimeter of the Palace and take better pictures. Cute place but shame it's a brief visit.

  • House of the president in chief. Just like the White house in WA, but DR version, cheaper, you know...
  • Good
  • Beautiful building. The National Palace of the Dominican Republic is the official home of the President of the Republic and the headquarters of the Executive power of the country. It is one of the most emblematic works of the country and it houses also the offices of the Vice President of the Dominican Republic. It is located in the city of Santo Domingo, specifically in its political and administrative control the National District Center. In the year 1939 by order of the then President of the Dominican Republic Rafael Leonidas Trujillo Molina is pushed through the elaboration of the plans that would give shape to this work of art, whose architect responsible was the Italian Guido D' Alessandro Lombardi. It was not until February 27, 1944 year on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of national independence where he began the construction of the work. The National Palace, seat of the Dominican Government, represents the symbol of the Dominican sovereignty and is the place where the big decisions are made and outlines policies for the smooth running of the country.

  • The Presidency at the level of information published is well represented on social networks, human level do not respond with the necessary protitud or when they are in a political campaign. According to me says a citizen in the last protest of House and opposite the National Palace of the Presidency. L@s secretati@s also do not pass the message, or comments, if not that you interrogate and then say we will call these agenda... Eternal calendar... In the last years you not responded or left you on standby now at least have a programmed system that gives the feeling of readiness...
