  • One of the brightest impressions of the Dominican Republic. Here everything that is produced in the country, and yes even from Haiti bring any. What belongs to the Dominican specifics: endemic semiprecious stone Dr-larimara-color of the sea of the Caribbean waves female figurines without persons, products from green amber, coins of the countries of Latin America. And even counters with possesses Wizard items and potions. Indigenous Dominicans retain traditions of ancient beliefs that are called "Santeria"-an offshoot of Voodoo. Magic potions employed many showcases and counters on the market. Here in the vast assortment of charms, ornaments, medallions and other magic items. Offers and unusual drinks, giving them accepting amazing abilities: enchant in person, recover from illness and more. Competition is tough: "you're not to go! He fakes! Drink-and nothing happens! I have buy, then for sure! "

  • I had read reviews about this market, and I went to visit him waiting to meet something typical. However, it is a market of Chinese merchandise that you can get anywhere else. The vendors harass constantly, the climate is sultry, in short, better go to another side.

  • At the end of our day we decided to concentrate our purchases of local crafts in this market. We were among the few customers and so it touched the continuous and insistent assault from each bank. The prices are high and bargaining after a while becomes exhausting! So I don't recommend it: better to linger in the shops of the colonial zone.

  • You can get amazing deals here! There are some crazy items like machetes that you can get for pennies on the peso! However, some of the vendors in this area are ridiculously aggressive. There was one man that grabbed me by the arm simply for him to get me into his store. Another man stopped me at the door as I was leaving to buy some coffee from him as well. I mean, hey, whatever works, though. I did get to pick up some wonderful items here, like a starfish necklace for my mom, along with other things. If you'd like to experience somewhat of a thrill and get great deals while you're at it, this is the place for you. Just remember: always negotiate the price down by at least by 30% always, and act a little disinterested when buying things, because when you walk away, they will usually rethink turning down your offer. Never pay full price for anything. As poor as some of these people may be, getting ripped off doesn't help the economy or them that much. There is always the sucker right in front of you they have to sell to also.
  • Excellent shop place. Good to buy souvenirs and stuff of the Dominican culture. Also has an vegetable market in the back side
  • Historical place of our country. You can find traditional things at a good price.
  • Very good tourist venue if you like tourist bits and pieces. However, this is a good place to buy larimar (a unique semi-precious stone of the Dominican Republic) and jade (second best quality in the world) jewellery, both are best buys, at cheaper prices than most outlets (especially anywhere in El Conde), but remember to bargain hard. Most art is Haitian style but none are original; you buy one and next day it's replaced with an identical copy.
  • Tourist trap. Don't pay full price for anything there. Nothing there that you will not find anywhere else in the area and at lower prices.
