  • Gazcue is just a neighborhood located next to the Colonial Zone. When the city started to grow, people leave the colonical houses and started to develop this part of the city. This is more a cultural ...  more »

  • Gazcue is art, aristocracy of the last century; an urban area of the capital of Santo Domingo that extends into the sea in a perspective of streets flowing on the Boardwalk or the George Washington Avenue; streets covered of leafy groves dotted by the different tones of green... In the "urban garden" which is Gazcue, we can enjoy the Ceiba trees of the tropical almond trees, poppies and the carolinas that are imposed under the shock and anarchy, since more than 100 years ago that what in the past was a hacienda, gradually became a special area and chosen by traditional Dominican families, admirers of good taste , who hired the best architects in the country, to design them. These families who love nature and "good living" made it possible to Gazcue became overcrowded with all the qualities of paradise. The origin of this neighborhood dates back to the beginning of the 1900, unfortunately some streets have arrabalizado by a growing mini-market facility without maintaining the criterion of the place, and the abandonment of some of the houses that are part of the historical heritage of the area,
