Gri Gri Lagoon, Rio San Juan

4.3
#2 of 6 in Things to do in Rio San Juan
Spend some time in picturesque environs at Gri Gri Lagoon. A number of boat tours here will take you through scenic mangrove channels. Once the main attraction in Rio San Juan, the lagoon has suffered from years of overuse and pollution. For that reason, swimming is not recommended in the waters. If you'd rather skip the boat tour, a path from the nearest hotel along the shore will lead the way. • We spent a fun day diving here with Happy Dive Centre. And the zipline was scary but fun! (make sure you use one or both hands to cover the parts that count, when you hit the water)  more »

  • Beautiful place where you can get involved with the nature. You might pay for a boat excursion, and ask the marine to spend a little time swimming at the ocean. The highways are in excellent conditions
  • It's place of relax and know
  • A beautiful place. Worth a visit in any case. A magnificent lagoon with fresh water. This is ideal for swimming. The lagoon is very deep, there also dives are offered. A restaurant is also available. As well as toilets and showers. There is also an area for young children. For the daring, there's a Zipline with which you can let yourself fall then from about 10 meters into the water. Also, you can visit the caves of the natives. The prices are competitive (entry and Zipline). It can only recommend this place.

  • This place is magical, the laguna Gri Gri is a natural swimming pool, take a boat that takes you from the lagoon to the open sea, passing through a marvellous mangroves reaching the open sea route, the boat ride takes you to the cave of swallows a charming place tador, a cave in the sea nesting swallows and see them fly into and out of the cave, and also stop at a place near the coast where the most risky can swim and enjoy the sea, I very highly recommend it do not go to Puerto Plata, Cabrera, Nagua and San Juan River without visiting the laguna Gri Gri.
