  • On my first visit to Punta Cana, I stayed in this hotel. I liked him very much, the restaurants are very good, the staff helpful and very cheerful. The beach in front of the hotel does not have a lot of wave and has a wonderful color.

  • Was hardly what I had expected. BE CAREFUL OF BEING SCAMMED WHEN BOOKING EXCURSIONS. I booked an excursion for a trip out on a big boat with Tour Point, with snorkeling and speed boat through Emmanuel from Sunwing/Nexus Tours in the resort. When we got out there, we were told we'd only be getting speedboat. After we made our complaints, since that was not what we promised, we had to go back to our resort (paying for the taxi fare ourselves) without even having done any of what we were promised. It was difficult to even get our refund even though we properly deserved it. Don't trust Sunwing for booking your excursion. Absolutely ridiculous! Other than that, the other staff to book excursion with are very pushy. You are constantly being asked about booking the deal with them wherever you go. I was asked at least 5-10 times in one day. I tried to be understanding since they're probably on commission but it was still very pestering. The resort itself has quite a few nice staff. Restaurant staff and bar staff particularly are the most welcoming, friendly and easy to talk to staff. Particularly a fellow named Tibercio was always looking out for us. We were really thankful to him! Though most staff hardly spoke English, they did try. They do seem to speak more French than English. There were some issues with the room we got. It was junior suite, but the air conditioning didn't work and the bath tubs were chipping. Another note, food was so so (didn't have very much variety so we ate the same thing almost all week). Stray cats around the resort and a lot of birds near the lobby area. It was also really hot there... The restaurants that you can book there were pretty nice. Gift shop, boutique, and souvenirs are really over priced (both in and out of resort). Only had wifi for 1 hour each day if you're with Air Transat. Otherwise it was about $4 per half hour for internet.
  • We went for 1 week and it was really bad service, food is bad, bad rooms, and there was a lot of humidity in the rooms and in the bed sheets. It was hard to sleep because of the smells. The bathroom is dirty. But towards the last 3 or 2 days it got a little better. But we will never go there again.
  • We visited this resort as a family. We had Juan as our concierge and he was wonderful. We had a great time playing on beach and in pool. Our room was ok. A/C didnt work the best! Tolerable. All of the workers seemed very friendly and willing to help as best as possible. Food wasent the greatist . Same food items every meal mostly. Not alot of healthy food choices. Restaurants in resort were good! Ok now for the big problem. Tropical studios rents from the resort and takes photos of you and your family. They were very friendly in the begining. They first hooked our family by snapping a photo with a monkey and our 7yr old boy. They told us we could view the pics later that day. We went to see pictures that eve and they were great. But was 15 dollars a picture. We had 4 children on the trip which would add up quickly. So I asked the photographer Carlos what it would cost for all the family to have a photo shoot and combine all the pictures on a CD for us. He told us 100.00. That seemed reasonable so we set a time for the photo shoot. That eve. We went to pick up the CD. They tried to offer us a pic. Package for 800.00 dollars, and said the CD would cost 500.00. This had 116 photos and photo shoot was 1hr. Are you freaking serious ! I argued wth the photo team for about an hour and then decided to go to hotel management. Guests services told me basically that there was nothing they could do because they are seperate from the resort. They all agreed that this price was unreasonable and a rip off! They did try to speak to the photographer's but were unsuccessful . I felt that the resort needed to make the photographer make things right or pay the photographer's the remaini g amout to make things right for us. The resort manager female name began with a S-------- was horrible. She told me before hearing the situition that she was a wedding planner and photographers charge that much. Ummmm NO! Especially after they gave us a different price first. Then she proceeded to tell me that this is the first time anyone has ever complained. OK be thankful now that you are aware your costomers are being ripped OFF.... She then speaking in spanishe spoke to the photographers with me present.. Hello this is RUDE!!!!! When I tried to explain the story she told me to lower my voice. Hello I have wasted 6hrs of my vacation and have missed my dinner reservations. This is the 6th time I have explained the story and now Yes Im getting fustrated!!!!!!! She walked away from me stating she wasent interested in helping me. REALLY!!!!!!! Hello mark your resort off my list of returning or ever recommending. I never got our beautiful photos and wasted 7hrs of our precious family's vacation. The resort seemed to not care as long as they got paid!!! In a nut shell. Management needs improvement! I would not ever trust the resort to keep us safe during a family vacation. Or to have your back in a situition like this!!!! It seemed as though they were only interested in your money. That being said I wanted to thank some lower management for doing all in their power to make things right. A lady guest services --------- and GiGi. And Franklyn. Thankyou!!!!!! But for my family and I we will not be returning to this resort and we will NEVER NEVER deal with Tropical Studios photography again!!!!
  • Pros: 1. The beaches are ok (could be cleaned more frequently), and have plenty of chairs, so no need to run in the mornings to book a spot. The beaches didn't look like the colour of the poster - oh well. (Cuba has far whiter and cleaner beaches just as an fyi). 2. The bars do a decent job of making drinks - each bar tender had their own "special for you" drink. 3. The landscaping is well maintained given the large layout of the complex and the rooms are cleaned well (the mini fridge is adequately stocked). 4. There are enough fresh beach towels every day and the grill by the beach has decent BBQ and Fries. 5. The Font Desk was great (Martha is super!), except for the crazy guy who checked us in on the first day. Wendy at the buffet's was awesome! 6. The night entertainment is ok and the do the best with the same dancers every night as can be expected. The kiddie disco was koool according to my kids!. Cons: 1. The food in the buffet areas is 2 stars at bests. Seems the chefs don't really know care. The A La Carte restaurants were horrible. Kids fell sick right after. Made notes for management and got the automatic "so sorry" response. 2. There is "NO" air conditioning in the buffet areas - everyone is sweating while eating. Very poor ventilation as well. 3. The waterpark is so-so and some distance from the main areas of the resort. If you have a room close to the beach, be prepared for a LOONG walk in the heat. 4. The hotel rooms are old and tired looking. They could at least re-caulk the bathrooms and treat them for mould. The floors are so slick, be careful when walking on them with wet feet. The toilets kept clogging and took several attempts to flush anything down. 5. The number of staff and agents running around looking to sell you a 'deal' is annoying. 6. The most disappointing is the "Sirenis Premium Travelers" team lead by David Robles, his senior fast scribbling sales person Juan Pablo, and "I'll fix it" clean up guy Junior. I was interested to know more about the program and do a cost-value analysis and after carefully explaining my criteria and needs, none of them do what they say they will and contradicted each other in many areas. Hard to find any credibility and sincerity in such people or the programs now. Lesson learnt. Word of advise - don't sign any documents until you have enough time to vet the intricate details and perform your due diligence (without the hassle of - Sign Now!!). Better yet, talk to your lawyer before plunking down tens of thousands of dollars. 7. Many of the staff don't speak English, why? 8. Mosquitoes will eat you alive!!! 9. The pools are old and have a constant ring of deep mould, grim, and dirt around them and some even have exposed wires where the lights are supposed to be. 10. The large screen projector was very blurry and has limited channels. 11. Everyone hits they want a "tip" - beware of "you come from rich country." 12. The adventure packages and day excursions are way over priced.
