Shopping Mall Shopping
Browse the goods on sale at San Juan Shopping Center, a mall that caters to locals and tourists alike. Unlike other malls close by, the center doesn't cater solely to international visitors, so you won't find wall-to-wall souvenir shops here. Instead, you'll find a large supermarket where locals do their groceries, and over 60 other stores selling a range of clothing, beauty, electronics, and entertainment products. The onsite movie theater provides a welcome distraction for anyone uninterested in retail therapy, and an area selling solely products made by Dominican artisans adds a nice variation to what's on offer in the modern mall. San Juan Shopping Center is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Punta Cana Edition.

  • Normal Mall ... has nothing to do with great prices .... just the souvenirs that you find with a better price. Has very good supermarket ... has several shops if you're going by the free shuttle service from the hotel, don't forget to do the 3 check points to not pay shipping. There's Wi-Fi and works very well. Salespeople are very nice. Worth going!!

  • When traveling to countries soil using the official currency of the country without any problem, so not in this shopping centre, where the official currency is the Dominican, if not the dollar peso (advisable to carry only dollars) my idea was to buy some things, so I started to look at stores and display prices. When I decided to buy each store had a different change and rounding upward when you attempt to pay the prices in Dominican pesos, never were on the two coins so change made it as they want from the 46 pesos to the dollar to 50 pesos. In some shops did not have Dominican currency the official in the country and they could not give you change below 50 pesos in others you returned in dollars using changes of up to 52 pesos to the dollar, ultimately determine not to make more purchases in stores of the mall to the feel ripped off. Note: There is a supermarket where prices are in Dominican pesos, also voi to be frank with the only site where if they had prices in two currencies a little ice cream shop that exists in the Center with a very nice dependent. not be if there are more local with two prices since I removed the desire to keep looking. Conclusion do not recommend.

  • Free take you from the hotel, make you pass by a few locals to seal a role and give to go back without obligation to purchase. nothing dazzling, hour-long reaches.

  • Really nice shopping mall, they have a great variety of everything. But the part that we most enjoyed was outside of the mall there is like little shops selling souvenirs and other interesting stuff.
  • You have most of the local banks here. Here is where you can pay your light bill. There is a grocery store. And you also have Pizza Hut and Chef Pepper here as well.
  • Decent shopping experience but the best deals are on the streets near the resorts. Cozy place! Awesome bar nearby. Good food also.
  • Good place to get your shopping fix on. Check with your hotel.... chances are, the mall will come fetch you and return you after your shopping adventure because.... wait for it... you're gonna spend money there. Everything from Payless to Prada, grocery shopping, Rx, etc.
  • Was a toss up between this and palma real which has brand name stores. We chose san juan bc upon reading reviews it appears a lot of stores closed down at palma real so we thought Let's try san juan. Honestly, I don't think any locals would shop here, Prices seem inflated for tourists. I can get nicer cheaper stuff back home. There's lots of souvenir shops. I wanted a Punta cana tote bag and couldn't find one for less then 16 us dollars... So, about 24 Canadian dollars. I think that's a lot for what you're getting so I came back empty handed. We got free transportation that picked us up at our resort. They give two hours which was was way too long to be there. I was ready to leave after about 40 minutes. Would I go back there.. No, but I guess it depends what you're looking for. Would be nice if a premium outlet mall opened here. Just a suggestion, and I know the mall doesn't set prices it's the stores individually. If you hose the tourists we wont shop, and then you will lose money, and potentially not be able to keep your doors open. Keep prices competitive and your stores will flourish.
