Rest among the coconut palms at Macao Beach, one of the Dominican Republic's more secluded beaches. With views of coastline and cliffs stretching as far as the eye can see, the picturesque beach provides a quiet spot to sunbathe or take a refreshing dip in the sea. Amenities at the beach, including toilets, are limited, so be sure to bring everything you need with you. El mar es super lindo e ideal para surf o si te gustan las olas. La vista es divina pero la playa es una mugre total. La gente tira suciedad x todos lados y la mugre que encontramos no era de ese dia,... more »
The sea is super cute and perfect for surfing or if you like waves. The view is divine, but the beach is a total filth. People throw dirt on all sides and the dirt that we found was not that day, several days earlier was already to arrive 10:30 in the morning and we were very few. She is full of localcitos to eat and you reach the food to the beach. Rent a Sun umbrella and 2 lounge chairs was u $$ 10 all day. The umbrellas are all cracked and the very worn armchairs. It was a disappointment that people are talking about Macao as a paradise, and for me there is. You become crazy selling everything (although the people are very friendly and educated) and so that you can make pictures with macaws and monkeys. Not recommend except by sea.View original

This is a small beach but with very delicious fresh food, be it a little pricey. The views are of course beautiful and you can take surfing lessons r go four wheeling. I suggest that you have a lobster and pick one of the fish caught that morning.

Very beautiful beach. If you're into big waves and great scenery, this is a must! Just watch out... The locals throw monkeys and parrots at you and then charge you $5 for a picture you didn't want taken

Macao beach is a virgin beach, is so gorgeous that your first impression is Wow this is amazing. You could eat fresh fish of the sea.

Gorgeous views, clear water. You're expected to negotiate dilligently for the fresh catch: this makes a lot of people uncomfortable but they're almost offended if you don't. Man up and play the game. The food experience is fantastic- fresh seafood you choose served wherever you can find the shade of a palm. Bring cash for drinks, dune buggies, food negotiations. I recommend water shoes as I saw broken bottles on the shore and no facilities.

Must visit. Clear warm waters. Crashing waves. Hold on to your belongings though a friend lost their phone here. Just be smart as you should traveling anywhere. Locals sell great food and cheap beer to you on the beach which is always great!
