  • This review is going to be long but I recommend reading before going to this resort. Where to start! When we arrived at the hotel the staff at the front desk were very friendly and the lobby looked amazing. We went to the beach right away because we arrived early. We returned from the beach and went to our room which was around 5 pm, our room the room was not ready. Mind you, check in is at 3pm and they were aware we were there as they gave us towel cards and welcomed us. We waited an addition 30 or more minutes to get in. We finally went in and it still wasn't the cleanest. I am not sure if they were rushing because they were late but I expect to have a clean room when I arrive for a vacation that I paid a lot of money for. Well anyway we were just excited to get the vacation started so I did not complain. The very next day my friends and I went to the gym. When I arrived back to the room to shower the electric went out and when the electric goes out the water doesn’t work. I walked down to the front desk to let them know and they said the entire resort was out. This also means you can’t flush the toilet either, which is extremely gross when everyone in the lobby and other areas are still using the bathrooms. I get it might not be there fault but it was just bad timing for my friends and I. The next night we came back from dinner and the air conditioner is out in our room. The man trying to fix it was in the room until 12:00 am. He looked at us like I will see you later as if it was fixed and it was not. I called down to inform them the AC was not fixed and they said they would get back to us. Well they never got back to us and we were extremely uncomfortable the entire night. They should have at least offered to let us sleep in another room, as the resort was not full. When I asked for a manager they stated one was not available and I had to write a complaint. Their way of apologizing for everything was giving us a $5.00 bottle of rum (I know this because it is in the gift shop) and a fruit basket. They must have forgot there is fruit in every restaurant and cheap rum doesn’t make that experience okay. The day we were leaving the water was not working. We had a late flight so we went to the beach however it wasn’t working for hours therefore could not shower prior to our departure. Again, everyone in the resort continue to use the bathrooms without being able to flush or wash their hands… To sum up the rest of the trip some staff are friendly and some are not. The beach is flooded with annoying people trying to sell you something, i.e. cigars, excursions, jewelry, souvenirs paintings, etc. This happens all day long, basically every 5 minutes they are harassing you. Even when you are laying down they disturb you. This made going to the beach annoying to say the least. Drinks are okay, they are very sweet and I mean sweet, therefore I drank beer the entire week. The entertainment was awful. I expected more activities for kids and children at the beach or the pools and there was not much going on. The pool parties they did have were at 4 pm and lasted a whopping hour. I understand this is a kid friendly resort (I did have my eight-year-old with me) however when we went to Mexico last year they made it fun for kids and adults all day long. There were more than enough pools to have some entertainment at one of them. Most of the buffets were good however you cannot make reservations for any restaurant except for the Japanese restaurant. All the other restaurants you had to wait unless you are a part of the vacation club. If it wasn’t for my friends coming a long on this vacation I would have not had a good time. One thing off the resort that we enjoyed was the excursion. It is a shame that we had to leave the resort to have a good time. I will not recommend this resort and due to our experience we will not be returning to the DR.
  • Loved every moment... Be warned! The extremely high UV radiation could ruin your Holiday! I have never been using any sun lotion in my life, not once but the sun has absolutely scorched me. Take lots of one dollar bill and shed it like crazy and you'll get some constant attention. Make no mistake you gotta tip. I've been pulled back once for not tipping but when you do most of the time they were so grateful, you could see it in their eyes and and it felt really good, almost kinglike :-) everyone gotta go to the tropical once. The beach is beautiful, white sands and palm trees everywhere. I can only recommend it as a holiday destination. They drive like crazy so get prepared or sit in the back on any transportation so you don't see nothing what's going on in the front :-D I
  • Beautiful beach and friendly staff; our problem was that out of 10 family members, 3 were hit with severe stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhea which kept them in their room for 2 days, and 4 of us just had diarrhea, but we could manage with immodium, which they should put in the welcome package upon arrival. We followed the strict advice not to drink the water, so we are left with a conclusion that the whole complex needs to review safe food handling procedures. This means hand washing (yes water was out) vegetable washing (with the water we are not supposed to drink??) and food temperature (some of the hot buffet food was not hot) This complex needs to be retrained in safe food handling procedures, and that means the buffets associated with the resort itself and ALL the restaurants. This is a big suggestion and one that will be hard to implement, so we are not expecting to be able to ever go back. Thank goodness the bride and groom at this wedding, which was our happy event and reason for going, were not stricken at least as of this writing. They still have a week to go.
  • First let me start with the positive feedback. The hotel is beautiful, beach is great, pool area is nice, and landscaping quite a site. We were at the resort for a wedding and the reception and food was excellent at the wedding. The disappointment was everything else. When you go on vacation there tends to be at least 4 important goals: great food, drink, rest, and beach/pool. They mowed the lawn on a Saturday morning @7:30am right next to our room; the cleaning staff talked to each other where it would echo into our room early every morning waking us; the food at the restaurants were disappointing and there were long waits at the restaurants; no nice bars at the restaurants; we paid for the spa but the sauna wasn't hot; and we tried to order room service but the food was horrible and they had the wrong order,
  • Terrible experience!! I have never written a review and it is my pleasure to write this review. I will never stay at this hotel again. I purchased the hotel and airfare off Expedia. The hotel offered a resort credit of $1,250. I thought It would be a credit to use anywhere on the resort. Instead was given a coupon book which I found out many vendors did not except. This was a true scam. My first experience a $40.00 voucher for scuba diving. The scuba diving company would not take the voucher. What a joke. I contacted management and went to the desk and did not receive a returned phone call. If you're looking for the perfect client experience you will not find it here. The travel club staff member will hound you and meddle you to come for a breakfast to get you to sign up. We placed a do not disturb sign on the door and the staff member knocked and pounded at the door at 8:30am and was relentless. The travel club trying to get you to sign up to be a member. The food at this resort was equivalent to Golden Corral Buffet in the USA. Terrible... I'm sure management will respond to my review below to sugar coat the experience. I will make sure my friends and family never book a trip at this resort due to having this experience. Boogie Adventure is not a true adventure for the excursion we picked. This excursion consisted of going on a dirt road and swimming in a small lagoon with 60 other people. The feeling was like being trapped like Sardines. Not worth the money. The only positive was pretty scenic grounds and having a nice butler. You have so many all inclusive resorts to choice from. Do all the research on the resort before booking.
