Playa Punta Popy, Las Terrenas

(4.1/5 based on 180+ reviews on the web)
Visit the picturesque and vibrant Playa Punta Popy, a long beach that encompasses everything from fun and games to peace and quiet. Rest beneath the palms on the main strip, where you have bars, restaurants, and water sports businesses at your disposal. Alternatively, consider walking east beyond the point, for a more peaceful spot to enjoy the sea. The beach can get busy with locals enjoying picnics and music on Sunday. However, despite the crowds, a police presence keeps things safe and under control. • This is a beach that is visited for locals (including washing their horses) as well as tourist. It looked very dirty and unorganized. We did not like it.
