Playa Bonita, Las Terrenas

(4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Get away from the crowds at Playa Bonita, a small and secluded beach that offers a welcome contrast to others on the Samana Peninsula. The crescent-shaped beach has a castaway feel, with a rugged but inviting atmosphere. More exposed than other beaches nearby, the wind and water come on strongly here, making it particularly good for surfers, boogie boarders, or people who enjoy a bit more action offshore. Quiet, restful, and a little wild, the beach still has much to offer in the way of restaurants and other amenities, with businesses set just back from the sands. Playa Bonita is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Las Terrenas Edition.

  • Would be perfect if the tiresome raids were not. We are pushed off in broad daylight, at 12:30, on our Quad by a motorcycle with two Dominicans on it and they stole the bag with personal belongings. Thank God were neither passports nor money in your pocket. In 2 weeks, where we are here, such raids have occurred almost every day. The perpetrators should come from El Limon, where even armed robberies take place. Sorry, but if you not more patrol authorities and mark presence, tourism in this beautiful area will decrease most sensitive.

  • This must be one of the most beautiful beaches ever. Absolutely stunning. Transport is needed so if you aren't staying in the area you would have to get a taxi. Lovely beach bar, little expensive but ...  more »
  • Hard to believe that there's so little yet. Although now some hotels have settled but it will never really full.
