  • The Mogote is a mountain and local attraction of Jarabacoa, where practically up local youth have fun and camping, your feet roundtrip walk takes about 5 hours, it has several routes to make the descent and the ascent but the two best-known are that are rising by pine forest burned, just at the entrance of the monks.

  • Here you have to be really fit. El Mogote is a mountain that has it all. First of all, the entrance is somewhat hidden. By car or motorcycle, you must drive direction Manabao. There follow the path at Pico Escondido and the Monasterio. Shortly before the Monasterio, a path goes left off. This is the way to the El Mogote. There are no signs, but the path is visible. It is almost only uphill, all the time. Take with high-energy snacks. Above, there are a few huts, which are temporarily occupied by men to the fire rescue service. This includes a tower, you can also enter. Some dogs have welcomed us, but quickly were recalled by the men. Up there you can have a picnic well. The descent is very slippery and matchig. Not to be recommended in the rain. The tour lasts about 4 hours + 1 hour break. Take plenty of water!
