View the modern architectural style of Basilica Catedral Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia, a cathedral dominated by a pattern of triangular shapes. The Roman catholic cathedral, which was completed in 1970, is almost completely built from concrete. Its nave features a towering ceiling that meets at a point, almost like a pyramid, while light pierces stained glass windows to illuminate the interior in soft colors. According to legend, the cathedral was built on the place where a little girl kept finding her portrait of Mother Mary, after repeatedly placing it by her bedside.
