Valley of Desolation, Morne Trois Pitons National Park
(4.8/5 based on 45 reviews on the web)
Contemplate the wondrous power of nature at Valley of Desolation, a valley of hot springs, steam vents, and fumeroles. Observe vapors rising from the ground and smell sulphur in the air in the spectacular setting. You can expect to be out for about 6 hours on the long hike, assuming you take it at an easy pace. Guides are available, but not essential, as the trail is easy to follow. Make sure you bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and beware of the uncertified guides at the start of the trail. For an easy and entertaining meal, consider bringing along some eggs to boil in the springs. • On the hike to the Boiling Lake, a valley where one can well into account the intense volcanic activity of the island. Starting with a guide and well-equipped preferably.

  • This place deserves all the name of Valley of desolation. Go in small groups is best, because is can enjoy more, the hike to get to the place is tired and strenuous, carry much water and snacks. The views are wonderful! Highly recommended.
