Emerald Pool Nature Trail, Morne Trois Pitons National Park

(4.4/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Take the Emerald Pool Nature Trail through the thick, wild rainforest to reach a shimmering rock pool at the base of a cascading waterfall. The pool sparkles emerald green in color while surrounded by overhanging trees, lush vegetation, and mountain views. The waterfall stands 12 m (40 ft) high, and the pool is more than deep enough for a swim, so bring your bathing suit. To reach the waterfall, you'll take an easy, 30-minute hike from the main road. The spot offers a relaxing ambience and is a quiet spot most of the time, except when cruise ships visit. • We took a detour on the way to our accommodation at Emerald pool. It's a beautiful trip and only once we were not alone. The water is cool and clear. Regardless the size, it was one of the waterfalls where you could go the best swim.

  • We went to the Emerald Pool with Pepper (look him up he is the best guide on the island) Its a few miles down to the Emerald Pool but its a well constructed pathway. Get there early before everyone else and you'll have the place all to yourself.
  • Easy hike. Good trail, well marked.
  • Beautiful falls with easy access
  • Despite it's touristic atmosphere , Emerald Pool was definitely worth a visit as it is a real stunning rainforest site - and for sure one of the most famous waterfalls on Dominica (besides the Trafalgar falls). However, we found better and more authentic waterfall locations around. Our favourite were the nearby Spanny's Falls which are on a private property (you need to pay an admission fee).
  • Its a must see attraction in Dominica. The water temperature is interesting.
