Emerald Pool Nature Trail, Morne Trois Pitons National Park
(4.1/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Take the Emerald Pool Nature Trail through the thick, wild rainforest to reach a shimmering rock pool at the base of a cascading waterfall. The pool sparkles emerald green in color while surrounded by overhanging trees, lush vegetation, and mountain views. The waterfall stands 12 m (40 ft) high, and the pool is more than deep enough for a swim, so bring your bathing suit. To reach the waterfall, you'll take an easy, 30-minute hike from the main road. The spot offers a relaxing ambience and is a quiet spot most of the time, except when cruise ships visit. • 10-15 minute walk to get to the waterfall (downhill on a landscaped trail, a few markets). Swimming possible, access to water is fairly easy (always pay attention to the ground sliding near the waterfalls). We can either go back by the same path that outward, either continue the proposed loop. The return path is a simple trace, a beautiful point of view mid-term. Back on this side is perhaps a little longer than the go (+ 5-10 minutes). This waterfall is part of the "classics" of Dominica, so pretty crowded, especially on days where there are cruise ships. Toilet, "snackette" and on-site picnic tables. Access possible with Pass National Park (sold on-site)
