Emerald Pool Nature Trail, Morne Trois Pitons National Park

4.4
#1 of 8 in Trails in Dominica
Take the Emerald Pool Nature Trail through the thick, wild rainforest to reach a shimmering rock pool at the base of a cascading waterfall. The pool sparkles emerald green in color while surrounded by overhanging trees, lush vegetation, and mountain views. The waterfall stands 12 m (40 ft) high, and the pool is more than deep enough for a swim, so bring your bathing suit. To reach the waterfall, you'll take an easy, 30-minute hike from the main road. The spot offers a relaxing ambience and is a quiet spot most of the time, except when cruise ships visit. Plan your visit to Emerald Pool Nature Trail and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Morne Trois Pitons National Park route maker website.

  • I think it was $5USD to get in, the "hike" is very easy along a path with some steps (some were a little slippy). Our guide gave us the best advice... get there early to beat any crowds. I don't....  more »
  • A really nice spot for a dip on a hot sunny day - although it did rain when we got out of the pool. The entry price is incredibly reasonable, the walk down to the pools is easily manageable (although....  more »
  • We used Shoretrips on a recent Royal Caribbean Cruise. The tour was called: TRAFALGAR FALLS AND EMERALD POOL. We had a group of 14 so we got a private shuttle with a driver named Clem. He was...  more »

  • Great outing. The pool is refreshing. The path to the pool is well maintained. If you want the pool to yourself go when there isn't a cruise ship on island. The pool is still worth a visit even if you get to go on a cruise day. This natural attraction is absolutely breathtaking. The emerald pool has a new viewpoint constructed near the pool.
  • Very cool little spot for a quick swim. Lots of people came on the tour which kinda takes away from the moment but definitely a must see.. the water is cold but refreshing! There's some steps getting to and from so not accessible for everyone.
  • It is so nice and there were not too many tourists overcrowding the area. We had the whole pool to ourselves and the water is so clean and pure and the waterfall looks amazing. Also the surrounding area is nice.
  • Nice ..fantastic waterfalls there is possible to swim under the waterfall.. there are some photos of national park (mini museum) some photos are after hurricane ... It's possible to use national park ticket ... You can buy week ticket and use it for more destination s (attractions)
  • Very beautiful and serene. Interestingly enough, it was not crowded, instead quite and peaceful. The water is a decent temperature that is quickly enjoyable enough to swim in! Only $5 park entrance fee!
