The lake. which measures about 63 m (200 ft) across and has a sweltering temperature of 82 °C (180 °F), bubbles with a greyish-blue color and constantly fills the air with a cloud of vapor. Viewing the lake requires a tough-but-rewarding trek through the steep hills of the dense rainforest. Expect a 13 km (8 mi) trip with muddy trails and stream crossings; locals recommend hiring a guide to help you over the narrow trail. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear.   • A hike to Miss Dominica if you are in good physical condition. Certainly the most beautiful hiking on the island. Count + or - 6 h go / return. Do with a guide because you can easily get lost (including to cross the Valley of desolation) our guide Jackson: + 1 767 316 0279

  • It's a great hike - up and down both ways - with varied scenery. It's not easy and not short (plan for six hours). Be prepared and take a lot of water.
