  • The castle itself is interesting, although like many other castles in Scandinavia (maybe just the ones I visited) it was partially destroyed by fire, so it is not all original. Nevertheless, the brick...  read more »
  • This castle is definitely a "must see" in Denmark. Since we were in the postseason since the end of August, it was not run over either. Great architecture, many artifacts from the history of Danish nobility. It may be photographed everywhere and the Park is for a free admission have to hike.

  • The Association had order guide tour of the 2.5 hour. It went pretty sharply, however, very interesting with a lot of historical narrative, of course. Unfortunately we didn't have time to even return to explore on your own, I would recommend to other visitors. I will even go back to see more.

  • A charming castle with a free of charge beautiful garden. The museum inside the castle is free if you got the CPH card. I would recommend to visit the castle during summer time for greenery trees and more energetic atmosphere.
  • Absolutely a stellar castle, incredible shape, amazing grounds, and in June/early July, a great place for a late night twilight stroll. Danes are awesome people too!
  • Just gorgeous. Great castle and amazing grounds. Walk all the way around the lake for always changing views
  • Amazing castle, full of tapestries, interesting displays, and a lot of fun history. The chapel and great hall are gorgeous. The staff at the shop were really kind, too. It's a direct train ride from Copenhagen to Hillerod, but takes about 45 minutes. Be sure to leave plenty of time to see the underground cellars. If you come in August, you can pair your trip with the Shakespeare Festival.
  • Stunning castle with huge and beautiful gardens. If you go at right time of year you can take the ferry around the lake, unfortunately we were 3 days too early. The train ride out to Hillerød is very pretty and the train plus the castle is included in the Copenhagen Card.
