  • Many visiting Møgeltønder to see Schackenborg and the beautiful cobbled Street, but one should also Slots visit the very beautiful Møgeltønder Church. The student at the end of Castle Street, one can with advantage be parked behind the Church. There is a loud and beautiful church with graveyard around it, in whitewashed stone and monks with blytag, however, is the upper part of the Tower ukalket monks stone. The Church which dates from 1200 figure is one of Denmark's biggest village churches, if not the largest, very impressive. It has belonged to the Diocese of Ribe and came in 1661 under the Schackenborg until 1970 when it was self-governing and immediately started a restoration that lasted until 1988, with a nice result. When we visited the Church on a Thursday in January was the open and it can really recommended to go into, you will be overwhelmed by what we see. The ceiling of wood has the most beautiful painting, choir and more has plenty of murals. Benches in wood richly decorated. On the left side, there is almost a balcony over the benches. The great golden altarpiece is also impressive. Yes you will be amazed at the many styles and colors in the Church. On the beautiful cemetery is erected a memorial stone above the parish fallen in World War 1. A church you just should look and the can be recommended to all.

  • The village's size taken into account a great and interesting Church. With lots of history up through time.

  • It is truly a one of a kind between Danish churches, there are frescoes from ceiling to floor throughout, and the part of the Church, which has a flat ceiling and also richly decorated. It has an old kirkedel, a newer Tower and an even more recent extension of the Church, but it appears as a beautiful whole with the Nice Baroque porches. Truly a must when one puts the road past the møgeltønder
