  • The monestary dates back to around 1160 and no less than three Danish kings are buried here. The interior in particular is very beautiful. The church is being restored at present but is still open.

  • There was little information about the place. Didn’t know what I was looking at. The church was in renovations so I can’t say much about that. The graveyard is a little bit boring.
  • Cool and Beautiful place. Feels like a cross between a Roman and Irish Cathedral with a Danish twist. Lots of history is evident from the well worded brochures, as well as almost springing from the stone and wood itself. The premises are also amazing and if the weather is nice do yourself a favor and take a walk down by the lake and enjoy the great nature there.
  • One of the latter churches on Sjælland. Quite modern in stile with painted bricks in different colours. Lag of storage space take away from the experience. Famous Danish poet Ingemann buried here. Nice area with old grave stones. Do also take a walk along the lake.
  • Very impressed kings buried there!!!!
  • Impressive monastery church from the early middle age. Small museum about the burial of archbishop Absalon and tomb of other famous people of the Hvide family. 3rd largest church in Denmark and one of the oldest.
