Abbey Church is large and Nice-not the most well known, but has a great history. Located down to the Lake, so there is a possibility of a good walk in the cemetery and area

We had time for a change to a side trip from the highway and visited the Church by the Lake. Impressive well kept bright and friendly. The choir rehearsed brings together during our visit was only a plus to underline also the acoustic part of the experience. The many famous digging requires a little more time/preparation. But beautiful lakeside a sunny day k mid-august

An exciting place to visit with several connections to our hometown. It is here in Sorø Klosterkirke as Absalon vilar, who was then Archbishop of Lund was ärkesäte for the North and Denmark's ecclesiastical centre. Margareta Valdemarsdotters son Olof rests there too. He was buried first in the Lund Cathedral but his remains were later moved to Sorø. And it was here in Sorø that Peder Winstrup went to school. He became Denmark's last and the first bishop of Lund and rests now in the Northern Tower of Lund Cathedral. So the links between Sorø and Lund are many and for those who are interested in the history of Lund, it is interesting to make a visit in Sorø.
