  • The surroundings are not quite finished yet, but we notice immediately the completely unique building with thatched outer completely to the ground. It is situated on the Låningsvejen to Mandø and falls beautifully into the landscape. You have to give them time to enjoy the exterior, but also to use the interactive exhibition about life, especially bird life in the Wadden Sea. There is a lot to try and to see, and I could see that the kids around me was very intrigued by all the "cool" things they can try, test, touch, observe or test. I would think that families can easily spend 1/2 day there. Missing, however, a place where you can buy a little to eat. You can just buy a cup of ståkaffe, but without the cake and sweet, but maybe it will come this summer. Please take your time to enjoy the innovative exhibition design that makes you feel that you are in the middle of a bird migration, or to listen for birds votes. There are many beautiful film footage of birds and bird migration. Signs, for instance the toilets could be better, and there is a lack of information material, you can take with you around the exhibition, but it is shown also on the way. The Wadden Sea Centre is a ride worth, and it may get even more great for summer, when nature guides comes in action both inside and outside. Finally, take your kids there. They will both get learning and experiences.

  • A successful foray into the Watts specially for children we took on the part of the Sea Explorer tour. In a larger group we ran to the Watts (600m). There were the kids with different tools (including skimmer, shovel,...) animals (E.g. crabs, lugworms, Watt taste,...) search in the Watts. The guides led and declared the participants also in German and English to connect some animals in the Centre under the microscope were viewed and explained. Unfortunately, the Centre is currently under construction... a huge construction site is so straight
