  • A church which should definitely experience, also outside the Church action, a lovely light church with beautiful décor and more.

  • The Vor Frue Church is a brick church dating from about 1200. This church is a bit further away from the Centre. To good Danish use the Church was closed. What a pity. We just walked around it a round and still have tried to take some photos through the Windows. But that's not good.

  • Church of our Lady is a Odense's oldest churches. It is in Gothic style, and is located on the outskirts of the city centre, very close to the Møntergården. No one can safely affirm our Lady Church age, but there may have been a stone church on the spot from the mid-12th century. The present Church is from ca. 1250 with several alterations along the way. The Church has a long and convoluted history, has been through many alterations and its furniture has been replaced several times. The oldest piece of furniture is a chalice from around 1325, whose foot is composed of seven medallions with depictions of the passion. The font is from ca. 1620 and the pulpit was installed in 1639. The altar painting of Anton Dorph is from 1885, and manufactures Johannes with the two Mary under the cross. It seems a little skewed among the rest of the furniture with its romantic pathos. Stands with his back to the altar, one sees the organ with façade from 1756 by Mat Worm. Church is open Monday to Saturday from 18:00. 10 and some hours.
