Mons Klint, Moen

(4.8/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Made of the remains of shells from millions of microscopic sea creatures, Mons Klint fall 120 m (394 ft) to the sea below. The cliffs emerged at the end of the Ice Age about 11,000 years ago. Marked paths help walkers, riders, and cyclists discover the surroundings. Vantage points along the edge offer views of the sea. Take the stairs to get to the beach. Look for fossils and ambers along the shore, and watch for orchids under the stairs. The cliffs are home to the peregrine falcon, the world's fastest bird, and the rare large blue butterfly. Visit the 18th century park at the northern end of the cliffs that features small houses, ponds, and rolling lawns. See Mons Klint and all Moen has to offer by arranging your trip with our Moen vacation route planner.

  • In 1970 I was here for the first time as a schoolboy. Then again in 1977 right before my final exam vh VWO. Unfortunately for me I saw the chalk cliffs then back in 2012. I make that damage now well by almost every year a week to Kalvehave. Close to the bridge from Sjaelland to Møn. Because I'm addicted to those chalk rocks with everything there on Møn and Bogø Nyord, South Sjaelland, etc. You can walk everywhere (good mountain shoes are a must on and along that chalk cliffs). I come here not in the summer, that's me too busy but in autumn, winter and early spring is very attractive, you can get anywhere good food without having to make a reservation or in a traffic jam to Liselund. Anyway, that's my preference. However, I would say: this belongs on every bucket list at home.

  • A great place in Denmark, which comes close to a special nature and with panoramas that are fully on par with places abroad. You have to be good to pin in order to climb the many stairs and walk along the beach is unique.

  • Very beautiful place. Steep walls of chalk going into the water. Probably the best time to visit this place in the summer, this time it will be possible to take a stroll along the shore, was closed in the winter. But in winter, early in the morning, there were almost no people. You can be alone with nature, in silence. Downstairs, sit and listen to the sound of the surf. It is a pity that in winter it is closed and cafes and a cinema. Summer in this location, you can walk the whole day. If you are travelling by car, you can leave the car at the parking lot. The ticket is valid for the whole day.

  • Beautiful sea side cliff. I love the view during the sunsets. Absolutely stunning.
  • Very nice place, i love denmark. There are even falcons that are living and hunting there. You can even look for fossiles
  • One of the best sea side mountain edges i have visited. If you visit to boree in cophenhawn you should check out this place
  • Great scenery, although it would be recommended to check the tides before heading there as you can't walk around on the shore at high tide.
  • The place worth visiting. Apart from the incredible cliff views, there is plenty of forest paths for pedestrians and bikers.
