Knuthenborg Safari Park, Maribo

4.4
#1 of 15 in Outdoors in South Zealand
Knuthenborg Safari Park serves as home to nearly 1,000 animals of 40 different species including antelopes, camels, giraffes, rhinoceroses, zebras, and the endangered species of Arctic wolf. The history of the park dates back to 1870, when owner Count Eggert C. Knuthlaid created a park for his collection of rare botanical plants. One of his descendants started to fill the park with free-roaming exotic creatures in 1969. Today the park houses an arboretum, an aviary, a tiger enclosure, attractive picnic areas, and a nature and a water playground for children. Most of the park is bicycle-friendly, except the savannah, which is accessible only by car or safari bus. In some areas visitors can touch the animals. Buy some traditional African crafts or locally produced foods at the souvenir shop. Make Knuthenborg Safari Park a part of your Maribo vacation plans using our Maribo travel planner .

This place can only be recommended, we enjoyed a lovely summer's day in the Park, and clapped and admired all the animals, who looks to have it really good.

I remember all my trips in Knuthenborg as a little magical. Super fantastic and just a super good experience. The trip Today was all that and just a little to. And the kids were overexcited. We come again! The new measures with water slide, water slide and good playgrounds in Limpopo country is really good!

We had a lovely day in the beautiful safari park. It's easy to get around in his own car, and stop when there's something you'd like to spend more time on. The animals look as if they are doing well and who is clean and nicely over everything. Fantastic children's playground area, where you can easily get a full day, to go. We had even brought along food and grill as we normally do, but this time it was not easy to find a place of dining. There were removed benches/tables from many of the places that were on the map, that they should be. You may well get the idea that the Town would like to see, you buy food at their cafe/restaurant. But the tanks we don't get, as long as the quality and price level are stuck together.

It's easy to loose track of time while visiting here, I spent a good chunk of a day here taking pictures and interacting with the animals! I really recommend visiting here if you are in the area and love animals!

Caress a goat for 28 EUR per person. Intersting animals (giraffe, rhinosaur) only visible from a distance. Watching lions is a joke: wait 30 min in queue, drive 200 m without seeing anything, last 10 m spot the lions hiding in their sleeping dens.

We have once again enjoyed a pinsetur in the Park in the family's company. Nice place to go together. (Fixed tradition for many years)
