Rubjerg Knude, Lokken

Categories: Lighthouses, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web
Rubjerg Knude stands as an abandoned lighthouse on the coast of the North Sea. Moving sands have begun to gradually bury the lighthouse, and it is expected to fall into the sea by 2023. There are paths around the lighthouse where you can hike, jog, or even bike. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and protect your camera equipment as powerful winds can sometimes blow the sand quite strongly. • I regret very much that I did not before have taken the trip to Rubjerg, for it is a true natural park, which is hiding in Northern Jutland. It is a slightly bizarre experience to see a Danish desert version in the middle of Lüneburg. The prospect is not available much more beautiful from the top of the lighthouse, not at all on a sunny and dry day ...:-) Then came off if you haven't been there. It progresses after all in the sea in a few years ...

  • Had never heard of this place before-but then all the cars along the road, and had persuaded the family to take a closer look at what was so exciting. We were all DEEPLY impressed. Both of the walk out there-but also of the stunning views. It took the breath away from us, to say the least. Take out and look this amazing place-there is not many years before this place will be swallowed up by the sea.

  • It was exciting to see fired again after the renovation, among other things. with money from the Realdania. It is a good solution with metal stairs inside, and the mirrors and Prism is exciting. By contrast, tarnishes the experience that murrester from the demolished buildings are not removed.

  • Very beautiful nature. What a view. Great to 'sail' down from the sanddunes. Amazing!
  • Dune-forming the highest point of the Jutland coast with up to 1900 m long, 400 m wide and almost 100 m height. Rubjerg Lighthouse surrounded by several buildings was inaugurated in 1900 and again closed down already in the 1960s. Currently, the sand dune has largely passed him. In 20 years he will plunge into the sea. Amazing place!
