A symbol of religious change in Jutland, contains monuments of both pagan Nordic culture and the Viking conversion to Christianity in Scandinavia. Now a World Heritage Site, this historic setting is a great place for a walk or picnic. Start at the Jelling burial mounds, which are important to pagan culture. Continue on to the runic stones, which are also pagan but represent the shift to Christianity. End your tour at the simple white church, which stands where the first church in Jelling was. • In the midst of Jelling Jelling stone, both our lies are now packed into large glass display case to protect them from wind and weather and hærvæk. Start with the stones and then mounds view and then go around the area and see how big the edifice has been through all the men. Impressive, it must be said. Well worth a visit.
