Arken Museum of Modern Art features works of modern and contemporary artists, including eight works of the controversial British artist Damien Hirst. See some of Hirst's most famous works: a dead cow immersed in formaldehyde, a diamond skull, and dead butterflies glued to a canvas. The museum has collected around 400 post-war contemporary art pieces by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Shirin Neshat, and Wolfgang Tillmans. The building itself is a work of art that takes the distinctive form of a ship stranded on the shore only few meters from the sea. The place where the museum is located is amazing, specially on a sunny day. The museum itself is not so big and that let's you enjoy the exhibitions calmly, without stressing out about how much you need to see. If you are not that fan of this type of art I would still recommend enjoying the location!

Very cool and interesting exhibitions when I was there. I loved the design of the building itself and the scenery outside. It was a bit far from Copenhagen but it's worth a visit.

It is interesting and a lot of fun. The exhibitions are total cool and thought-provoking. The staff were really kind and helpful, and the shop is full os fun and beautiful stuff. The exhibition around the building is also worth the walking, the view is beautiful and super chill.

I guess our family is not that into modern art. Although we think you have to be lucky with the temporary exhibition as well. We arrived in the pooring rain and went out in a bit of sunshine. All by all, a good combination: visit the museum first, then let your mind wander at the nearby seaside.
