  • I had never heard of this museum before going to Denmark and was taken there with a student who was living in Copenhagen. It is an easy train ride and then a short flat walk through a residential area...  more »
  • Right now, and until May 27, 2018, a special exhibition with almost 200 different items of the approximately 4 000 that Picasso made during a year of creative and productive period in his life. He lived on the Mediterranean Sea in southern France and was inspired by the classic art and nature around him. He decorated dish and plates with bullfighting-and matmotiv, portrayed a variety of birds, fish and other animals and figures and any single man's figure also during those years. The objects are imaginative and colourful, and in front of many of the items, you get the feeling "would be at home"! Imagine having a fruit platter with fish as a motif or a tricky OWL in the window!

  • Great museum with fantastic permanent and temporary exhibitions. We were there during Picasso's ceramics temporary exhibition and it was more interesting than expected. The museum has a fantastic outdoor area with most amazing view - great place to have a picnic lunch during warm sunny days. It can get really crowded thought, on Sunday afternoon it was impossible to even walk through canteen area.
  • This is honestly my current favorite modern art museum. They have an excellent combination of classic modern art and contemporary modern art. The exhibits were well thought out and allowed the viewer to go from one exhibit to the next. On top of that, the actual museum and surrounding landscape come across as an art piece within itself. I unfortantley visited on a cold rainy day but the large windows and open view still allowed me to enjoy the nature around.
  • Really nice place for a day trip. You can get lost in the marvelous views over the sea. The modern art displayed here is for all ages and taste. Definitely worth the trip. Strongly recommend
  • Amazing collection of both well-known and upcoming artists. We thoroughly enjoyed this gallery and easily spent a whole afternoon here. There is a beautiful view out to sea from the garden and a very atmospheric cafe/restaurant with a log fire where you can get a drink or meal. Would definitely recommend spending a good half day here. One of the best parts of our trip to Copenhagen!
  • My favorite experience in a modern art museum to date. Revel in photography, sculpture, painting, experimental film, immersive multimedia installations, and a breathtaking view all in one place. Everybody will be able to appreciate something here, whether they just want to relax by the sea or stretch their brain with art that feels out of this world. It took about ten minutes to walk there from the train station, but it was an easy straight shot.
