M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark, Helsingoer

(4.3/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
The collections of M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark tell the story of Denmark as one of the world's leading shipping nations. Follow the sloping bridges down to the old dry dock between Kronborg Castle and The Culture Yard to enter the underground museum. The exhibitions feature a fleet of merchant ships and personal stories linked to the museum's collections from the past four centuries. Interactive installations and games provide opportunities for playing and learning together with others. Experience the role of the captain, or sit behind the desk of the shipping executive conducting world trade in today's marketplace. Many exhibits are expressed using a set design and a film projected directly onto the architecture of the building. • Went to the café after trip to Kronborg Castle. Then ventured into the museum itself. The café was a great place to chill with its view over the old dry dock - very unusual. Museum was reasonable but ...  more »
  • The Museum gives a good insight into maritime history without it gets boring. Well made and children can easily get something out of it.

  • Super spændende museum og ditto arkitektur. Cafe'en laver en fin cappuccino.
  • Beautiful Museum. The Museum has some interesting topics and is pretty in its own way. The Museum was made in 2013 and placed in an old dock.
  • Easily one of the best museums. Modern, informative and fun
  • Innovative building. The exhibition content can be underwhelming, but presumably this depends. Definitely worth visiting if you are interested in architecture and adaption.
  • Interactive, great for kids, get your own tattoo, everything you ever wanted to know about the sea sailors or ships. I enjoyed the antique measurement tools, depth gauges, navigation. Store is expensive but great quality, clothing books and soap. Architecture is unusually laid out, interesting in its own right.
